Rodger and Auden Compare and Contrast

Author's Note: This is my compare and contrast piece, I thought I did well on this. In the list I compare Auden from Along for the Ride and Rodger from Thank you Ma'am. Hope you enjoy and tell me what you think.

-mature and school driven-16
-family always at home
- no childhood
-no social life

-parents fighting or no one to watch her
- both deserve a better childhood

-wild and frail-14-15
-Nobody at home to feed him
- dirty face, un-brushed hair
- stealing and un trustworthy
- other friends that roam the streets

Rodger/ lifestyle                                      Same                                        Auden

Obviously Auden and Rodger are not the same, they have a lot of differences but they had one big similarity that they can really relate too. Auden is a school driven girl that had to deal with her parents fighting when she was little. Because her parents fought she just kept to herself and busied herself with school work, she had no social life as well. Rodger on the other hand was the total opposite and he had a social life he was always hanging out with people, although he didn’t have a parent figure to tell him the rights and wrongs. In the story it says that Rodger stole from a lady and she asked if he just roams the streets and he said yes. The biggest thing that they have in common is both of them deserve a better childhood. Auden with no social life and always doing school work and then Rodger roaming the streets of New York and steeling from others. Having a childhood is important it gives you time to be mature and enjoy life unlike the book the Outsiders were the Greasers have to grow up fast and work so they can eat and have shelter.

Keeping the Moon

Author's Note: Here is my Theme essay, this wasn't the easiest essay I have done. I think it's alright though and I think I did a good job connecting to something in a real world. Please comment on what you think!

Walking through the school hallway all alone, no one to sit by during lunch, being alone of the weekends with on friends to hang out with. This are all signs of lacking confidence, kids and even adults get bullied because of scenarios like this every day.  It’s sad and I wish there were more people in the world that would reach out the ones that need to be lifted up. An example of this is Colie the main character of the book Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen. Colie deals with lack of confidence everyday and it makes her feel insecure about herself.

First I have to explain Colie’s past, her and her mom used to be really over weight they would travel all over the country. For each meal they almost stopped at a fast food restaurant and continue on their journey. Colie and her mom were really over weight, until her mom joined a gym. Her trainer liked her so much that they gave her a free admission into the gym. She started to join the dance workouts and began to lose weight. They trainer was so pleased and liked how friendly Colie’s mom was that she got to teach her own classes. Soon there were ladies lined up shoulder to shoulder dancing along with Colie’s mom.  This reminds me of the book Along for the Ride, the character Auden is not confident about herself either until she meets Eli a troubled boy. They fell in love and Auden became a changed girl.

Since Colie’s mom definitely changed she started her new workout line. She became the ever so famous Kiki Sparks. Everybody loved her; moms all over the world were itching to get to meet her and try to get their hands on her workout products. When Colie and her mom moved to Texas Colie’s mom’s workout line really sky rocketed. So they stayed, Colie’s mom had to leave for a business trip so Colie had to go stay with her Aunt Mira for the summer. Colie is not the most confident and outgoing girl, she used to get picked on when she was in her “fat years”. When she went to stay with her Aunt she meets Isabel and Morgan they became best friends. Isabel was a very pretty girl and new all the make-up tips and tricks. She influenced Colie and taught her how to think about herself and not too much about what others say to her. She told Colie how to act and talk to others without showing any weakness so they wouldn’t get the chance to pick on her.

Isabel wasn’t the only one who changed the way Colie changed there was also Morgan. Morgan gave Colie life lessons about boys and just other teenage things. She showed Colie how to enjoy herself and live life to the fullest. Because of Morgan Colie has become more aware of the people who have cared for her.

Colie was always kept to herself and didn’t have any confidence about herself and how she treated herself. Without having any confidence in yourself you feel insecure about yourself and don’t socialize with others, and then you really miss out. Because of the friends she met during her stay in Colby she has changed into a fun and outgoing person who is more confident than ever.

Prediction Piece- Appearance

Author's Note: This was a hard topic for me to to mainly because I was gone and needed to be caught up but also because I couldn't find a good story. So hope you enjoy and comment what you think!

Story- Appearance

In the begging of the story everything seems fine, Ellen moves into a little apartment in the Western part of Cleveland. She doesn’t have a lot of things in her apartment not even a bed. It’s always the same old thing. But one morning a man shows up at her window while she is making a pot of tea. The man she describes looks homeless and kid of translucent. She sees this man every morning at the same time for a while. But unexpectedly on morning a women in a beat up car comes and sits in her driveway, every time Ellen would go outside the lady would drive away. On one morning she stayed and Ellen offered her to come inside,  did and they talked about the ladies life in the apartment. Then the man came and the lady noticed Ellen looking out the window. The lady saw nothing though, Ellen noticed that were the man touched the window frost created and then it hit her.

My prediction is that the man is a ghost and that he is the husband of the lady. The way that the man is described leads you on the thinking he is a ghost. Because it makes no sense that a man would come at the same time every morning and peer into the window. I could be wrong but when Ellen would look out the window for tracks she would find nothing. It makes no sense, why would the lady be there in the first place then. The man always has a sad face, maybe because he died or the way he died but I don’t think that a normal person always has a sad face.

Turns out that he was a ghost and was the fiancĂ© of the lady, he killed himself in the apartment the lady said he took to many pills, he lost his job and a spot in a band. The man had a name is name was Eric, the lady said that her parents didn’t like him and didn’t want the two to get married. When the lady left Eric the ghost got into the car with the lady and left.

The Truth about Forever Character Analysis

Author's Note: This piece is for my analysis essay. In this piece I tried a different technique for my transitions, I think it went well and was easier that what I used to do before I hope you like it please give some feedback!

In the book “The Truth about Forever” by Sarah Dessen is a great example for a character that changes throughout the story. The main character is Macy, she is a shy and kept to herself person. Ever since her dad died she never really communicated with her mom only when it was necessary. She was always a hard worker and really school driven, the total opposite of her sister Caroline. When Macy was younger she used to run with her dad but when her dad died of a heart attack she stopped running. Macy changes drastically during this book.

Macy changes a lot in the book because of many reasons. The main one is when she takes up a catering
Job. Her mom hires a catering company come to her house. People come to see what she can do to build the perfect house for interested family’s. During the night the catering company has some issues and Macy’s mom notices and wants Macy to go see what is going on. Then she spends the rest of the night helping the people of the business. The one person that really sticks out is Wes; he is a handsome boy that Macy seems interested in, although she is still in a relationship with Jason her boyfriend. Macy gets an offer to join the company. She finds out that the name of the company is Wish and she decides to take the job.

The catering company was one of the issues that changed Macy, but there was also breaking up with Jason. In the beginning of the summer Jason went to a Brain Camp and Macy would email him while he was gone. When she said I love you at the end of one of the emails, Jason kind of freaked and told Macy they should take a break until he gets back. Since she joined the catering business, she spent more time with Wes, and Kristy another person from the catering job. After one of the jobs all of them would go to a party hoping to find Macy the perfect boyfriend. Macy soon got more confident in herself, but her mom didn’t like her change. She wanted her to stay where she was and continue to be a perfect girl and focus on school.

Macy was starting to become a more friendly person and not want to work on school so much. In the end Macy ends up  outgoing person and nice person. She doesn’t get back with Jason, but starts a relationship with Wes. Her mom eventually understands and loosens her grip on Macy. Macy really changed from the beginning of the book to the end, and you could clearly see it.

Patriots Pen Essay

Author's Note: This topic was really hard for me to write about because i'm not really into American history like this. I'm not saying I don't like it i'm just not that experiences with it. But anyways here is my patriots pen essay and our topic was "What would you tell America's Founding Fathers?" Hope you like it!

Dear people of America,

I’m grateful for all that the founding fathers have done to make our country great and one of the best, heck they basically start the country. There are however a couple things that I would have changed or done to make it even better. But right now I am grateful for all we have. This country is great and amazing, and I am proud to be an American.

American’s are thankful everyday for all that you have accomplished. However there are some people who hate our country because of all the stuff that we can do. We have freedom of speech, freedom of religion and i'm sure that there are many more reasons as to why other countries are jealous. Our country is great and the men who started such a great country need some credit. It wasn’t just George Washington, it was also: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and John Hancock. I know your thinking thats a lot of people but they made our country strong. Although they are not perfect like Thomas Jefferson, he had slaves when he became a founding father. It wasn’t until Abraham Lincoln came along and stopped slavery. Slavery was a bad thing but, it did help us with the plantations but all people sould be equally not better than others. Slavery showed that white men and women were better than black people and it shouldn’t be that way.

Slavery was one of main flaws but there aren't just flaws there are huge success. Such as us becoming one nation blacks and whites. In one of my favorite lady gaga songs she sings “No matter gay, straight, or bi, Lesbian........No matter black, white or beige”. It really doesn’t matter who your are or were you came from all that matters is if you proud to be an American.

Lock and Key

Author's Note: This piece is for on of my assignments in my Writing Lab. I don't really have much to say about it other than it's about the conflict of the book Lock and Key and what leads up to the conflict. Other than that enjoy.

 Book: Lock and Key

An abusive and not stable mother leaves her 17 year old daughter  Ruby to live alone. Ruby has to stay with her older sister Cora and her husband Jamie, Jamie is the creator of a famous website called UME.com. Ruby was going to run away on the first night but got caught by the neighbor and Jamie. Nate the next door neighbor offers to help Ruby but Ruby doesn’t want to get to close. In the end Ruby excepts that she has to stay where she is because it’s for the better and her and Nate become girlfriend and boyfriend.

The cause of Ruby going to live at Cora’s house is because Ruby’s mother ran away. Ruby’s mom ran away because she was depressed and sad that her husband left her. Her husband left her because he liked someone else and just didn’t love Ruby’s mom. Because Ruby’s dad left, Ruby didn’t have a dad anymore and Ruby’s mom would hit and punch Ruby and Cora when they were little. That Summer

Author's Note: This piece is one of my assignments for my reading lab. I have to analyze the conflict/resolutioin of a book I read. I think this is one of my better pieces. Responding to things, and showing what I know.

Book: That Summer

Divorces can get ugly especially if it is a divorce involving kids, such as Haven the main character from the book That Summer by Sarah Dessen, Haven's parents divorced a couple of  years ago and now Haven is fifteen. Her dad got remarried right away to the Weather girl that he sits next to on the Weather Channel. Haven takes this whole thing really hard especially after Lorna Queen the Weather girl announced that she is pregnant. Ashley, Haven's older sister announces she is getting married around the same time Haven's new step mom announces she is pregnant. Haven losses it and starts to avoid people but secretly wish that everything would go back to normal so she could have a real family, but one particular evening she couldn't take it any more and she runs away. In the end she is found and arrives to Ashley's wedding. Haven feels for her sister and is happy for her, they have had a stronger bond after that ever since.  I know people at my school who are in the same situation, I hurts to know that they have to go back and forth to parents houses and figure out who is going where. Because of that I am thankful that I don't have to go through that, I am blessed that I have great parents who love each other and will always be there for me when I need it most.

Up North

Author's Note: This piece is about going up to our cabin in St. Germain, WI we have lots of fun everytime we go and we see something new every time. Please comment on what you think about this piece!

Being around family and friends on a warm summer night sitting around a brilliant crackling fire, there is nothing that can get better than that. My family and another close family that we know came up to our cabin in St. Germain, WI. We stayed there for four days and three nights. It was a lot of fun and now I have many more memories to add.

When we were up North we brought or bb guns to shoot at cans and water bottles for fun and a little practice. Everybody enjoyed shooting them and we had a blast. However one afternoon I was shooting my bb gun and I pulled up a new green plastic chair to sit on. My brother and I were both going for the same green tea bottle, we wanted to see you could hit it on the first try. I shot and then Owen, I was getting up when the chair started going backwards. I held onto the bb gun and went falling backwards. When I landed I set the gun down and got up, I was turned and looked at the chair and saw there was a huge crack on it. “Oh my gosh you guys, I cracked the chair!” I started to laugh really hard and one of my friends told me that the look on my face was priceless. I will always remember that feeling falling backwards. After that we started to shoot again but this time we shot at the chair.

Usually when we had nothing to do we would go down to a little inlet where tons of frogs lived. It was really amazing how many there were! You would either be fishing or help catch frogs mostly you would be catching frogs. It’s really exhilarating trying to get the right angle so the frog goes into the net and can’t get out. I think that we caught about 30 frogs in a little bucket, we would joke around about having frog legs for dinner.

The best part of the trip was walking around this little pond that we call the “Pair less Journey Pond”. When I first walked around it I was 8 years old. It was so much fun! We had to work together to get over the big trees that were cut down, and walk through the knee deep muck. When we went there this summer we walked it again. My little brothers came this time and although they were a pain it was impressive that they lasted the whole trip. I love going up to our cabin my favorite time is the winter thought but summer is just as wonderful.

My Trip to Jamaica

Author's Note: My piece is about the wonders of going to Negril, Jamaica. It was wonderful and if you want to know more keep reading and leave a comment about what you think!

Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing onto the sand every morning was amazing. Feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated and a little sunburn was the life. It was my second time coming to Negril, Jamaica that I will never forget. My parents have been to Jamaica 10 times at least. This year we went with another family and stayed for nine days it was just as enjoyable.

Every morning we would get up and go have a huge breakfast with endless buffets with beautiful colors of fruits and salads, breads, and desserts. I was always full till dinner time. After breakfast we would go back to our rooms and get our swimsuits on and head down to the beach. The parents would usually lie on the bright green lawn chairs and the kids would be in the water or down and the fish sanctuary. That area was beautiful; we spent most of our time there. There were fish everywhere, fish with every color you could image! Some were big; there were little ones, and fast ones. During breakfast we would grab some bread and take it down there, the fish would eat from your hands and they were everywhere. They were like bees swarming honey! One hot afternoon we were down by the sanctuary and I had some bread in my hand feeding the fish. I was videoing the whole think with a waterproof camera, I was thinking to myself hoping no crabs would come near me. Well guess what happened next, I turned and looked to my left and walking towards me was a big crab. I slowly got up and backed away the crab got scared and then went into its little hole. I was a little giddy after that because no one had gotten that close to a crab. There were also starfish and lots of sea Urchins those hurt a lot if you stepped on one, I did and I got a couple of the spikes stuck in my foot. When we were down in the sanctuary one afternoon a Jamaican who came back from fishing from the edge of the resort and we didn’t notice I was standing there looking at the water and I suddenly felt something scaly on my leg. I turned to look and they man had a giant barracuda pressed to my leg! I was so surprised but stayed still by then my friends and brothers came over and admired the man’s fish. We asked him what he planned to do with it and he said he was going to cook it up for supper. After that we went back to the beach to tell our parents.

By the middle of the afternoon around two we would go to lunch, we always had a big plate of fries and really nothing else, other than ice-cream after. We never really ate much because we were still full from breakfast. When we were done with lunch we would head back to the water for the rest of the day. We would leave around seven and go to dinner at about eight close to nine. Dinner was just as amazing as breakfast was, with buffets full of food! At night they would always have some form of entertainment for the most part we would go and watch but that was it. This happened most of the nine days but there were activities that we would go to such as snorkeling. We went out on a glass bottom boat so you could see the bottom of the ocean when we were driving. We saw tons of sea creatures, stingrays, fish, sea cucumbers, huge sea Urchins, and we even went through “Star Hollywood”, it’s a place where tons of starfish live the ground was littered with the giant starfish it was really incredible. When we arrived we got all of or gear and jumped into the water. I was first in and got to see the reef first. It was breath taking; there was fish everywhere all different colors and sizes. Starfish and Sea Urchins lay on the ground too. By the time I stuck my head up my brother Owen joined me and a couple of our friends that came to Jamaica with us. Owen made his way from the boat a bit and was look at the reef. I started to follow him but a second or two later he was above the water saying he saw a sting ray and it was still there. I swam over and sure enough it was really delicate looking just gliding in the water it was amusing to follow.

My trip to Jamaica was spectacular; the people were delightful and friendly. I think I came back with a couple more pounds than when I got there! I miss that place badly and hope to go there really soon.

True or Not?

Author's Note: Do you really know me? If you think you do then read this! If you think that it's true or not please comment your answer! I will post another piece saying if it's true or not.

I have 3 older sisters, they are Kimberly who is 16, Jessica who is 17, and Ella who is  19. They are really crazy! Each has their own counter in their room and it is full of makeup products. The only boy that is in my family is my dad. He always feels like the odd ball out but he enjoys teaching us on how to take care of the chickens, hunting and helping us with school work. Although sometimes we get on his nerves. The nice part about having older sisters is they can help you with school, boys, makeup, and that girly stuff that girls do, even take me places. My mom helps to but she doesn’t know that the the latest fashion trends are. Having sisters can be a downfall too. They might judge you on things or can make fun of you and even make you do their dirty work. But that doesn’t mean that I hate them. They are family so they mean a lot to me. My friends are jealous of me but that doesn’t change us.

Siblings and Family

Author's Note: I had a hard time wording this piece, I don't think that it's my best piece and it's really short. My ending was well, but my body was alright. Please comment!

Family members are important in life, you need someone to turn too. They connect you to everyone. Each one is special in their own way, you can always be sure that they will keep your secrets or help you remind you about important stuff. Each one has a special feature to them. Like Owen he is the oldest and he likes to be in control of everyone or lead the way. Brody he is the artistic one and is shy and quiet, but likes to get attention from others. Emmett is the nicest little boy, he likes to help others and is really patient. My family is my family and no matter what happens they will always be the same.

Friends are Like Colors

Author's Note: Friends mean a lot to me and others also. They are like a bubble of security and hope. They mean a lot and show what kind of person you are.

Friends are like colors, they're bright and spontaneous or dull and shy and then there are the likable ones. I have many friends in and out of school. I can trust them and they can always come to me when something happens. Friends are an important part of life, they keep you going, push you to your goal. Reassure you and comfort you. It doesn’t matter who they are. It matters if you can trust them and they can trust you.

What Books Mean

Author's Note: Books are something that we revolve on, answers to questions, places to go, homework questions. Books are important to our world and they mean a lot.

Books are like a another world on pieces of paper. Books mean a lot to people, they can be a memory or a just a geography book. They started to become a part of the the Egypt society about 5,000 years ago. They were first made on clay tablets. Even kids at school would write their homework on the tablets and would have to bring a “book” home. Next they actually revolved into books and the pages were made from papyrus. Which is a type of plant that would grow by the Nile River. Now a days they are just on regular paper or the new craze is Nooks and Kindles. You can download books electronically on the device. I think that it would be a shame if we would get rid of books, but the way our world is revolving into the future I can tell that we are going to lose something dear to us.

Symbolism Piece

Author's Note: This was an interesting topic/ piece that we had to do. It was fun to express our feelings on what we thought something meant. I really didn't enjoy the story but, it was FULL of symbolism. Enjoy! Please leave a comment on how we did!!!

A Rose for Emily

By: Becca C, Liana J, and Chloe K.

Rose – Love, and that looks can be deceiving.
Love – Roses are elegant and pretty and it’s something you get on valentine’s day.
Looks can be deceiving – Roses are beautiful but they also have thorns which are painful.
February – Harsh
Harsh – Winter can be cold and harsh.
Stairways – Creepy, Falling
Creepy – Sometimes when you walk up the stairs they make a creeking noise and it scares Liana.
Falling – You never know if you are going to fall up or down the stairs so you never know what’s coming
“Her voice was dry and cold” – Old, Out of Breath, Cold outside, Mean, Worn, Harsh
Old – Old ladies have old little squeaking voices
Out of Breath – Old ladies have no breath – you can just picture it in your mind.
Cold Outside – Sometimes in the winter the air is more dry and it is not humid
Mean – Old ladies have really high pitched voices or really low voices like “get over here young lady!”
Worn – Because old ladies are old!
Harsh – Long pointy nails, and they have harsh voices!
Rat – Sneaky
Sneaky – Old Emily is very miscellaneous
Snake – Slither
Slither – Emily can easily get out of things – like her taxes
3 gray beards – old men involved, wise
Old men – They’re ore wise and they can control things and they have more experience. They have more stories to tell.
Wise – Old men are wise and smart.
Midnight – Crimes, Important meetings
Crimes - Because no one can see them in the dark and everyone is asleep and it’s dark.
Important meetings - You can’t see and nobody knows about it and it’s a time where everyone’s quiet.
Gray – Ancient, Dull, Not Exciting (a.k.a. boring), Depression
Ancient – because the story seems like the 70’s and ancient means the 70’s - It’s kinda like slavery time.
Dull – All color has been sucked out of it and it’s just not fun to look at
Not Exciting – Which is more funner? Pink or gray? Those are your options!
Depression – I think depression is upsetting, and gloomy, poopy

Spring District Writing Assessment

                                                     Someone to Turn to

There is a choice to be one’s friend and a choice to not. But without friends you would be a loner. Without friends there is no security, no bubble. In the book Someone Like You. Halley and her best friend Scarlet spend a wild summer together full of trust and heartbreak. Scarlet’s boyfriend dies in a car motorcycle accident, Scarlet is heartbroken and is also carrying his baby. Halley on the other hand meets a mysterious boy named Macon, he is always skipping school and sometimes is halfway across the country and Halley starts distancing herself from her parents. In the end Scarlet delivers a baby girl and Halley and Macon break-up. This book has a lot of symbolism showing that they will always be by each other’s side. Friend’s are important in life; without them we would probably not get far down the road to come.

All my friends are mostly people who I go to school with. My family and cousins are close too. It’s like I have a bubble of friends like Scarlet and Halley. They both had other friends but they were always together. Cousins can be part of the bubble to, when I’m trying to get through hard times I have my cousins to turn too. Halley did to in the book she would call her cousin and talk to her. They make me laugh and enjoy myself a little bit more. Ever since my grandma passed away we have gotten even closer. Over the summer they are always at our house or we are at their house. There are other inspirations too such as teachers.

A man named Stephen Hopson told his life story about being bullied and having trouble hearing. Kids at school would verbally hurt him and sometimes slap him across the head. The story was sad and hard to read, but in the end he won the battle with the bully and was the most popular kid of the school. All because of a fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Jordan. How charming is that?

I read about this story on the internet but it hit me write in the heart. People around you can make a difference and so can you. Stand up for someone and you can help a friend. Like I said without friends you would be lost in this world. And would have no one else to turn too.

Trusting Your Gut

Author's Note:  This essay has two stories full of people that I know especially family who have trusted there gut, and me two. I wasn't really sure how to connect to this book but I knew it had some kind of meaning and I tried to put it out there. If you can, try and leave a comment for me so I can edit it in the end.

A thriller of mystery with a twist of relationship is a great route to go with a book like A Little Less Girl by Tess Oliver. When Dani and her mother come to live in a little town once where her cousin Amy and Grandma lived. Her cousin Amy supposedly killed herself due to hurtful words from the mouth of her prince charming Jake West. Dani is so upset about what Jake did to Amy, but that is just the beginning. Dani is so sure that Amy didn’t kill herself it’s unlike her to do that; she was a very humorous and bubbly person. In the end it turns out that she didn’t kill herself it was all a mistake. Trusting your gut is good to do in important times, especially if the facts are all laid out for you.

When I was about 5 years old my parents my brother Owen and I went to the Wisconsin State fair. It was getting dark out and I was following my parents to the ride area. I was really excited to get on one of the big kid rides because I was tall enough back then. I guess I fell behind because I was looking at something (I don’t really remember), when I turned around thinking that my dad was behind me. But he wasn’t I started to freak out! I wasn’t sure what to do. For some odd reason my gut was telling me that I need to stay right where I am, I knew my parents were going to figure out that I was gone and would come looking for me. I was right my parents did notice and came for me. The whole time I did not cry or feel any emotions, I just trusted my gut. I bet a hand full of other people have had this happen to them, as well.

Like my mom, my mom was on her way to her work-out place and on her way out of the drive-way she was driving slowly because she was talking to my dad. At the time there was snow on the ground and it was cold so she was sitting there letting the car warm up. She made it to the place and got out and went inside. She was at least 20 minutes into her work-out when for some reason she turned around and looked outside, and to look outside you have to really turn around. And right then and there one of our chickens spitty ran under the car! My mom was so shocked and stunned, at the time one of the trainers walked into the room. And my mom said to him “do you want to see something that you will never see again? Look under that” He looked at my mom in surprise and asked what it was. My mom said “that’s one of my chickens from home”. He looked at her again and then walked away. Then she went outside and grabbed her from under the car and put her into the back and continued her exercise. And to make it even funnier it was on Friday the 13th! When my mom told me I went outside and look for prints on the roof, and on the sides and back of the car. There was nothing but it that story I will never forget.  It was the funniest thing! But the reason for this story is that my mom for some reason had a feeling, a gut feeling that she needed to look out the window. Sometimes things happen for a reason, and it can be a miracle or a tragedy. But things do happen to people for a reason and that’s just how life works. Without interesting stories and being able to predict the next day would lead to a boring life.

Reaching for the Stars

Author's Note: Everyone is able to succeed only if you try, trying is the key to everything. It's like opening a new door and your ready to explore. I like this post the most, it says a lot of what I think. So if you enjoy it please comment on it, I like to see what others believe.

Lily Sanderson is a regular girl that lives in Sea view with her Aunt Rachel and goes to school like every other teenager, but in the ocean she is a total different girl. She is the becoming Queen of Thalassinial which is the Mer world of Sea View. No one knows except her best friend Shanon and her new boyfriend Quince. Tera Lynn Child's does a good job with making sure all the characters have their moments to shine in the book Fins are Forever. Mermaids are very appealing; because of them they can change the way we see the ocean and all the life within it and you need to work to make that happen. Reaching for your dreams is a great way to help you succeed in life.

Like all kids Lily has school everyday, but when her bratty little cousin comes to stay. Lily is so overwhelmed and afraid that she will fall behind. She is trying to become a Marine Biologist to help her Kingdom for above. But she doesn’t know that Dosina and a guppy hod friend have a plan to stop her from staying on land. In the end she decided to become the Queen. Her boyfriend Quince became a merman and all is marvelous.

My goal in life is to become a Veterinarian, I have lived and worked with animals all my life. I have chickens, turkeys, one dog and a bunny at home, I go turkey and deer hunting too. As you can see, I have learned about animals through books and the knowledge from my parents. This is a big goal for me, it means that I will have to put a lot of effort in my grades and make sure that they are always pleasing.

If anyone can succeed in life it would be Albert Einstein, he proved everyone wrong about life itself. He was a full blown German boy, and so were is parents. When he was little and went to school he was one of the smarted kids. But when he was trying to prove his theories later in high school teachers would shatter his dreams. Despite all that he was the one who developed the theory of general relativity, effecting a revolution in physics.

If you ever had a doubt about anything forget that, live life to the fullest and get out there and reach for the stars, it’s your destiny don’t let anyone get in your way!

Being A Middle Schooler

Author's Note: Have you ever just put people in your own categorize. From my point of view these are the categorize that I view people in. My opinion is that we all are different and unique but we all are the same too.

In Middle School your either a hallway roamer, an class rusher, a do whatever person, or a normal person. I believe I fall into the hallway roamer category. I have a nice easy live with tons of friends, I'm the most popular person in the in the school. Everyone knows me and wants to get my attention sometimes it can get a little crazy but, it’s worth it. My name is Ella and here is my life story.

My room is my savior, it can be bright or dark on good days I open all of my windows and clean my room, but on dark days I keep it all closed-up and wrap myself in the darkness. I’m always in my room rather than being outside. My brothers know to leave me alone when I'm in my room only if it's an emergency. Life is good for me.

School, different types of people, crazy ones, colorful ones, bad sense of style ones some many names and faces and numbers sometimes it is hard to keep track of! I love being a middle school er though and when II have to go to High School it will be really interesting.

Inspired Art Piece

Author's Note: Finally the snow has come and this picture has inspired me in so many ways! One of the ways is writing this piece and  fun stuff to do outside. I can't believe that whom wouldn't like the snow! ESPECIALLY a snow day, but if we just had summer all the time animals and people might die. But of that note. Here is my favorite type of topic to write about.

This piece reminds me of our cabin up in St.Germain, the great outdoors are really beautiful! My grandparents own the cabin and we stay up there to either snowmobile in the winter or swim in the lake in the summer time. Obviously this painting is different from our cabin but when I look at it memories come flooding back to me.

In the winter time we snowmobile, the scenery is even more beautiful than here at home. Everything is covered in snow! Down the main road of were our cabin is, there is a little bar that we like to go to named Fiber’s, when you are sitting at the bar or the restaurant area you will see all different snowmobiles go bye. It is so much fun and I love having the need for speed so snowmobiling is my kind if thing!

Favorite Quote

Author's Note: We all succeed in life weather it's a big or a small succession. I wrote about this quote because it is completely true.Like another quote "big things do come in  small packages."

“A person with a new idea is a crank until the idea succeeds.” -Mark Twain

I like this quote because it is true. When a person has an idea they are a crank until the idea succeeds, it happens all the time, do you ever think what it would be like if you felt like the world was on your shoulder?

My dad is a patent, he is someone that looks over new inventions that people are trying to push onto the market. Sometimes we will bring his work home so we can some inventions. It is cool to think that maybe someday we might be able to get a hold of it. Or use it in some way, shape or form.

I enjoy this quote, it reminds me that the world keeps on moving and that you need to be patient until the right time comes.

Ponit of View Story

Author's Note: How would you feel if you were an electronic, but you could hear, see, and feel things. That's how Charlie feels so read this and give me feedback, I like this story the most.

I am a Barns&Nobles nook, I have just been opened up and it feels good to have my screen be touched after suffocating in this stupid box. I mean really why do humans have to do that? We can see feel, and hear, just like them!

I was born in a big shinny factory with about 2,000 other nookies (nook babies). I took a while but when I was made I was trained and ready to go, but I had one slight problem. I was put on the shelf and sat there for about a week till I was ordered to leave for a store. I had a heard about them but never really could picture what they looked like. The elder nooks that really didn’t work so well would tell me that I was never going to leave, but I didn’t listen to them. I was one of the better looking nooks but then there were the joks, (Kindle Fires) that would come to steal the nook girls away. I was jealous but I knew by tomorrow I would be happy and find the girl of my dreams.

In the morning we were boxed up and packed into a big truck, I was surrounded by my buddies and anxious and ready to go. After a day or to I believe we made it, we were unpacked again and immediately set out in the store were everyone could see us. I was one of the ones on top, my friend was next to me and we were both excited to be picked, a couple of hours later a women with curly brown hair came and looked at us for a while finally after 5 minutes she reached out for me grabbed my face, I could not see and I was a little scared I heard my friend screaming good-bye and wishing my good luck. I was happy but nervous. I wanted to impress my new owner so I would not go back to the factory. I was purchased and wished good luck again by the price scanner, and then shoved into a bag. Also with a beautiful green case, I had never seen before. She was nice to me and happy that we would be together for a while. Ms. Spring Green (the case) and I (Charlie the nook) were stuck in that bag a long time, we got to know each other more and had an instant connection.

We were in that bag forever, finally we got wrapped up and shoved into a closet for about 2 weeks roughly I believe. Finally we were brought out and set under the a Christmas tree the night before Christmas, we both new we were going to be opened by a child, I was excited but nervous I hoped that whom ever it was would be nice and treat us gently. That morning, we could here kids screaming and hands grabbing our box. We laid there for a while but finally it was time. Wrapping came of and the first thing we saw was a huge smile.
