My Trip to Jamaica

Author's Note: My piece is about the wonders of going to Negril, Jamaica. It was wonderful and if you want to know more keep reading and leave a comment about what you think!

Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing onto the sand every morning was amazing. Feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated and a little sunburn was the life. It was my second time coming to Negril, Jamaica that I will never forget. My parents have been to Jamaica 10 times at least. This year we went with another family and stayed for nine days it was just as enjoyable.

Every morning we would get up and go have a huge breakfast with endless buffets with beautiful colors of fruits and salads, breads, and desserts. I was always full till dinner time. After breakfast we would go back to our rooms and get our swimsuits on and head down to the beach. The parents would usually lie on the bright green lawn chairs and the kids would be in the water or down and the fish sanctuary. That area was beautiful; we spent most of our time there. There were fish everywhere, fish with every color you could image! Some were big; there were little ones, and fast ones. During breakfast we would grab some bread and take it down there, the fish would eat from your hands and they were everywhere. They were like bees swarming honey! One hot afternoon we were down by the sanctuary and I had some bread in my hand feeding the fish. I was videoing the whole think with a waterproof camera, I was thinking to myself hoping no crabs would come near me. Well guess what happened next, I turned and looked to my left and walking towards me was a big crab. I slowly got up and backed away the crab got scared and then went into its little hole. I was a little giddy after that because no one had gotten that close to a crab. There were also starfish and lots of sea Urchins those hurt a lot if you stepped on one, I did and I got a couple of the spikes stuck in my foot. When we were down in the sanctuary one afternoon a Jamaican who came back from fishing from the edge of the resort and we didn’t notice I was standing there looking at the water and I suddenly felt something scaly on my leg. I turned to look and they man had a giant barracuda pressed to my leg! I was so surprised but stayed still by then my friends and brothers came over and admired the man’s fish. We asked him what he planned to do with it and he said he was going to cook it up for supper. After that we went back to the beach to tell our parents.

By the middle of the afternoon around two we would go to lunch, we always had a big plate of fries and really nothing else, other than ice-cream after. We never really ate much because we were still full from breakfast. When we were done with lunch we would head back to the water for the rest of the day. We would leave around seven and go to dinner at about eight close to nine. Dinner was just as amazing as breakfast was, with buffets full of food! At night they would always have some form of entertainment for the most part we would go and watch but that was it. This happened most of the nine days but there were activities that we would go to such as snorkeling. We went out on a glass bottom boat so you could see the bottom of the ocean when we were driving. We saw tons of sea creatures, stingrays, fish, sea cucumbers, huge sea Urchins, and we even went through “Star Hollywood”, it’s a place where tons of starfish live the ground was littered with the giant starfish it was really incredible. When we arrived we got all of or gear and jumped into the water. I was first in and got to see the reef first. It was breath taking; there was fish everywhere all different colors and sizes. Starfish and Sea Urchins lay on the ground too. By the time I stuck my head up my brother Owen joined me and a couple of our friends that came to Jamaica with us. Owen made his way from the boat a bit and was look at the reef. I started to follow him but a second or two later he was above the water saying he saw a sting ray and it was still there. I swam over and sure enough it was really delicate looking just gliding in the water it was amusing to follow.

My trip to Jamaica was spectacular; the people were delightful and friendly. I think I came back with a couple more pounds than when I got there! I miss that place badly and hope to go there really soon.

True or Not?

Author's Note: Do you really know me? If you think you do then read this! If you think that it's true or not please comment your answer! I will post another piece saying if it's true or not.

I have 3 older sisters, they are Kimberly who is 16, Jessica who is 17, and Ella who is  19. They are really crazy! Each has their own counter in their room and it is full of makeup products. The only boy that is in my family is my dad. He always feels like the odd ball out but he enjoys teaching us on how to take care of the chickens, hunting and helping us with school work. Although sometimes we get on his nerves. The nice part about having older sisters is they can help you with school, boys, makeup, and that girly stuff that girls do, even take me places. My mom helps to but she doesn’t know that the the latest fashion trends are. Having sisters can be a downfall too. They might judge you on things or can make fun of you and even make you do their dirty work. But that doesn’t mean that I hate them. They are family so they mean a lot to me. My friends are jealous of me but that doesn’t change us.

Siblings and Family

Author's Note: I had a hard time wording this piece, I don't think that it's my best piece and it's really short. My ending was well, but my body was alright. Please comment!

Family members are important in life, you need someone to turn too. They connect you to everyone. Each one is special in their own way, you can always be sure that they will keep your secrets or help you remind you about important stuff. Each one has a special feature to them. Like Owen he is the oldest and he likes to be in control of everyone or lead the way. Brody he is the artistic one and is shy and quiet, but likes to get attention from others. Emmett is the nicest little boy, he likes to help others and is really patient. My family is my family and no matter what happens they will always be the same.

Friends are Like Colors

Author's Note: Friends mean a lot to me and others also. They are like a bubble of security and hope. They mean a lot and show what kind of person you are.

Friends are like colors, they're bright and spontaneous or dull and shy and then there are the likable ones. I have many friends in and out of school. I can trust them and they can always come to me when something happens. Friends are an important part of life, they keep you going, push you to your goal. Reassure you and comfort you. It doesn’t matter who they are. It matters if you can trust them and they can trust you.

What Books Mean

Author's Note: Books are something that we revolve on, answers to questions, places to go, homework questions. Books are important to our world and they mean a lot.

Books are like a another world on pieces of paper. Books mean a lot to people, they can be a memory or a just a geography book. They started to become a part of the the Egypt society about 5,000 years ago. They were first made on clay tablets. Even kids at school would write their homework on the tablets and would have to bring a “book” home. Next they actually revolved into books and the pages were made from papyrus. Which is a type of plant that would grow by the Nile River. Now a days they are just on regular paper or the new craze is Nooks and Kindles. You can download books electronically on the device. I think that it would be a shame if we would get rid of books, but the way our world is revolving into the future I can tell that we are going to lose something dear to us.

Symbolism Piece

Author's Note: This was an interesting topic/ piece that we had to do. It was fun to express our feelings on what we thought something meant. I really didn't enjoy the story but, it was FULL of symbolism. Enjoy! Please leave a comment on how we did!!!

Important meetings - You can’t see and nobody knows about it and it’s a time where everyone’s quiet.
Gray – Ancient, Dull, Not Exciting (a.k.a. boring), Depression
Ancient – because the story seems like the 70’s and ancient means the 70’s - It’s kinda like slavery time.
Dull – All color has been sucked out of it and it’s just not fun to look at
Not Exciting – Which is more funner? Pink or gray? Those are your options!
Depression – I think depression is upsetting, and gloomy, poopy
